Sleep Consultation
Service Description
As a registered nurse, LC and developmental support specialist from birth, I believe in a holistic approach. This is also how I work as a sleep consultant—looking at your child within the context of the entire family unit and considering all family needs. It’s important to understand physiology and biology and to go through age-appropriate processes. The purpose of the consultation is to provide you, the parents, with the tools to manage your child’s sleep challenges. I aim to normalize your expectations about your child's developmental sleep patterns and give you tools for change—while being mindful of both your child’s and your own needs. The process includes an initial online meeting, where I will gather information about your child’s health and development, your daily routine (it’s helpful to prepare this in advance), your evening routine, and how you respond to your child’s nighttime awakenings. The goal is to understand the current situation and identify what’s not working for you as a family. Together, we’ll build a personalized daily schedule based on your child’s age and discuss the principles that support a gentle transition into sleep, without over-tiredness. You’ll receive practical tools to help you make adjustments to your day and night routines, making it easier to align your child’s activities with their developmental stage—and simplifying your daily flow. Sleep consultations are available from 4-5 months of age, when it becomes possible to make the necessary adjustments in preparation for the 6-month milestone. Some parents may seek early guidance on how to navigate life with a newborn. That’s also an option—to better understand the baby’s unique sleep mechanisms. However, it’s important to note that interventions at this age are limited, as the baby is not yet physiologically and hormonally ready for external changes that affect sleep patterns. Who is this consultation for? It’s ideal for parents looking for a gentle approach to daily life with their baby, while meeting their baby’s emotional and physiological needs. After the initial consultation, I provide two weeks of WhatsApp support, offering guidance and answering any questions that may come up as you implement your plan.
